2 QUESTIONS for Christine Schneider, co--founder of the e-bike retailer and service specialst FlottenFahrrad in Bad Urach.
Your niche of providing ergonomic advice on the customer's existing bike is something special, how did you come up with the idea?
Our customers gave us the idea! When they brought their bikes in for service, they often told us about pain in their wrists or back when riding. Of course, we would spontaneously help by adjusting the seat, handlebars and so on, but we wanted to offer a more professional service. I underwent special training in this area, and we invested in a machine to analyse their posture on their bike. We also sell bikes, but our customers don’t have to buy a new bike to use this service – we optimise the ergonomics of the bike they already have.
FlottenFahrrad has been around since 2021 - what would be one important thing you've learned as a young entrepreneur recently?
Interacting with other entrepreneurs from different industries helps me to move forward. I am currently learning about my mindset and focus to achieve my goals. I stick to a big goal and document the smaller steps along the way. This means that I break the big goal down into smaller tasks that I can work on one day at a time. This way I make a little progress daily because I want to be a little better tomorrow than I was yesterday. It takes time and sometimes I have to be more patient.
